Chin shaping surgery or genioplasty can improve the appearance of either a receding or overly protruding chin which results in a less aesthetic facial profile. This surgery aims to improve contrast and definition to one’s face and better complement its other features. A receding chin can be enhanced by placing a permanent implant or by adjusting the underlying bone that is already present. Dr. Tepper will discuss both options to help determine which is ideal for you.
A chin which protrudes more than desired is corrected by repositioning or removing excess bone. Asymmetry of the chin can also be corrected by addressing the underlying bone or the addition of implants.
These procedures take 2 hours and is performed an on outpatient basis.
