Brachioplasty

An arm lift or brachioplasty restores the youthful appearance to the upper arm which can lose their shape from aging or changes in weight. Both extra skin and the deposit of fatty tissue can contribute to a sagging appearance of the arm. The goal of this procedure is to improve the contour of the upper arm by removing this excess tissue. Dr Tepper will discuss with you whether you would benefit from having liposuction in conjunction with an arm lift for more dramatic results. Removal of any excess fat will allow for better draping of the skin over the arms and improved definition. Liposuction is performed with small rod shaped devices through small incisions, but in order to remove excess skin, an incision which extends from the armpit to the elbow is necessary. This procedure is performed in the outpatient setting and takes 2-3 hours.
